Memorial Day Weekend and Rachel's Wedding

Yep, it's true....I'm finally blogging about Memorial Day Weekend, what a slacker!!!
The holiday weekend for us was pretty laid back. We had a BBQ that Saturday at the Bonacci's, The food was fabulous (Jerrod is such an amazing cook,) and we enjoyed our time gabbing and dancin up a storm....Fun times!
On Memorial Day, Ryan, Neil, Sky and I visited Aunt Diane's , Grandpa Miller's and Grandpa Brent's graves and then later that night we headed back over to Neil's house for another BBQ and to roast marsh mellows around the fire pit. It was a beautiful day spent reminiscing about people we love and miss like crazy!!!

This past weekend Rachel (Ryan's cousin) got married! It was a fabulous day for her and her new hubby Craig (except for the horrible flu bug that he had going on, he was so sick all day long!) They got married in the Salt Lake Temple, had there luncheon at Gardner Village and their reception was at "Noah's. " We had a blast dancin the night away, the DJ did a great job. CONGRATS RACHEL AND CRAIG!!!
Enjoy the picks!

Fun Times!!!

The last few weeks have been pretty hectic around here. A lot has been going on. Most of our free time has been spent back down at the ballpark watching Skyler play some amazing softball, She really is a “Lights Out” Pitcher!!! Their team is ranked #1, they are 8-0. Skyler has a pitched a no- hitter so far, so none of the teams have been able to score against her….Pretty cool! Now on the other end of the spectrum and as a direct example of Sky’s philosophy of keepin it real, she is an awesome singer as well. She takes lessons twice a week after school and was just able to play the lead singing part in her chorus group, she did an amazing job….I’m so proud of her. She was stoked because the whole week after her performance, several of the kids told her in the halls at school how “cool” she sounded. I’m loving being such a big part of her life, what a complete joy she is!!!
This Past weekend I was able to spend some quality time with my bestest girlies in the world, Teri and Heather. We went to Liberty Park. Chad, Mark, Chace and Gray were there as well, "BONUS!" Those two little guys are sooo freakin cute! We've got a Mini-Mark and a Mini-Heath on our hands, you gotta love it. (Ryan didn't get to come because he was working...Boo!!!) Chace just turned one so Chad took some amazing pictures of him around the park, they are darling! After the cute photo session, we relaxed under some trees on a couple of blankets. We ate some fabulous food and let the little boys play with each other. We had some great conversations and some good laughs, Mark and I were a little preoccupied with the "LARPING" boys (People that dress up in medieval outfits and pretend to be at war with one another.) They were screaming and running around like crazy, one even got stabbed in the back (by a pretend sword) and fell to the ground as if he were dead…..WOW, the entertainment was great! At some point in the day Mark got a hold of my camera and took some pretty sexy pictures of himself, he thought he was getting one over on me, NOT!!! Now one of his little poses are posted on this blog for the whole world to see.... Somehow I think he will love that idea instead of being mortified. FUN TIMES!!!
Side Note: The first picture below is of Big Heath and I at “Wing Nuts” watching the Jazz game last night, what in the SAM HELL is wrong with them??? Losing by one Point…… REALLY!!!

Love Love Love Jimmer Fredette!!!

Okay, really?!!! I can't believe that I was able to meet Jimmer Fredette last night, He's only one of the best Point guards to ever play BYU basketball!!! By now I think you all know how much I LOVE sports, Especially BYU sports. I think last night ranks up there with one of the top 5 highlights of my life thus far, not only do I think that he is an amazing player but I also think he is a little hottie!!!
Summary of last night:
West Jordan High School had their annual end of the year celebration to honor their Varsity Basketball team....This also entailed an silent/live auction and a raffle to raise money for WJH sports programs (which was a lot of fun in and of itself.) We bought a ticket to support our longtime neighbor Jared Hansen, who plays on the team. Somehow, Coach Briggs had a few connections and was able to get Jimmer Fredette to come and do a motivational speech for the players and their friends and family members. I'm Sooo happy that the Hansen's thought of the Miller family!!! Jimmer's speech was amazing---VERY inspirational!!! He quietly excused himself after he spoke and started to head out of the front doors, I was standing over by the doors when he was leaving and snapped a shot of just him, he then motioned for me to come over to him and he had a lady that was with him take the picture below---Wow, a shot of my boyfriend and I together...LOL!!! He also gave me his autograph and his phone number (kidding about the phone number!) All in all this was a night to remember! Now we just need the Utah Jazz to pick him up while he is a free-agent, wouldn't that just be icing on the cake!!!

Grandma Miller

It's hard to believe that my Grandma Miller is 95! Despite a few health issues (especially as of late) She still manages to to get around pretty well. Although she does require a lot more help these days, she is still living on her own. I was out to Herriman a few days ago with my Dad for a visit, and I really enjoyed the time we spent together, she is an amazing woman and her stories are truly one of a kind....I love you Grandma!!!

A little of this and a little of that.

This weekend was the Annual Salt Lake City Marathon. As always, Yuen participated and joining him this year was Jason and Bennett. Lil Heath, My Mom, Skyler, Joe, Cole and myself took off early this morning to catch them all at a couple of their checkpoints. We wanted to cheer them on and to get some good pictures of them all in action. Ryan was doing security/traffic control during the race so we made a stop by his post for a quick visit as well.

All of our racers seemed to be in good condition at the first checkpoint so Heath and I took off to to beat the boys to the second checkpoint. After waiting about 30 minutes we saw Bennett running toward us, We snapped come pictures of him running and then asked him how far J was behind him, he told us that about 5 miles back J had re injured his hip muscle (at least that's what I think it was.) To make an extremely long story short, we had to pick him up in the car 3 miles back from where we were. I know that he was disappointed, but hey, 18 miles isn't bad right??? Yuen ended up finishing in 5:10 and Bennett finished in 4:25, I'm so proud of all three of them, great job guys. The weather was absolutely beautiful today and it felt so great to be out and about soaking in all of the warm rays!!!

In other Lim family news: Ryan no longer works for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office. They are now known as the Unified Police Department (UPD) which for us just means that his paycheck comes from a different place and his uniforms are now navy blue instead of the old Khaki and Green ones with the Sheriff's star on the sleeve. He will eventually get a new car with the new UPD logo on it....It's all a big phasing out process. I personally think that he looks a lot more handsome in the new uni!!!

Last weekend was our big spring cleaning day. We deep cleaned every inch of our house, including our cats, they all got their bi-yearly baths. I mean hey, they don't have to do chores, pay for their food and they get to just sleep all day long if they want to, all they are required to do is take a bath two times a year....Big Deal!!! They are all actually getting pretty used to the idea, and don't really put up much of a fight anymore. I had yet to get a picture of Keagan post bath in a towel and I finally got one of him...Enjoy below.

Other than that, nothing new is really going on.....I love this weather we've had the last couple of days, bring on the ball games, BBQ's and yes, even the yard work, I love SUMMER!!!

Me walking with Yuen towards the very end of the race, the poor dude was hurtin.

Here I am, patiently waiting for our runners to come around the last corner of the race.

Bennett towards the end, he actually looked pretty good still.

Heath and I at checkpoint #2, at this point we didn't know that J was injured.

Keagan right after his bath, how freakin cute is he!!!

Hair Date!

Last Tuesday Skyler, Lil Heather and myself went to the Salt Lake Community College to get some deep condition treatments and a style....Pretty simple right??? I think that I could even have handled those two tasks... Well, little Heath and I got a little brave: She got her bangs trimmed (which actually turned out ok) and I wanted just an inch off the length of my hair ( 2 hours after the chic started my "TRIM" I had a full out bob!!! An inch turned out to be 5 inches, it just kept getting shorter with each section that she did!!! Oh well, I was due for a bit of a change anyways!!!
Skyler's style ended up being very cute (she must of had a senior student!) She finished a good hour before Heath and I did, she had a great time wondering around making fun of us and taking some good pictures.
Here is the lesson we learned: Cheap isn't always the best route to take, unless you have several hours to spare and you like surprises----You never know what kind of hairdo you will end up with!!! Oh well, We had fun Anyways!!!

Sky gettin her hair curled.

A little trim for Heath.

My lady rinsing my third shampoo of the night, why???
I guess you need a fresh shampoo after a deep condition, a trim and right before a style!!!
I look concerned!!! But then again, I was.

The final product: Wow!!!
Heather looks like she is 12 with her little curls and I look like a lion with a big frizzy mane!!!
Skyler looks adorable.

I'm Alive!

SO I thought I should Just post a quick update to notify all of you that I am still alive, Actually, I feel more alive than I've felt in a long time!!!
I don't have any cool pictures or great stories of exciting adventures, yet somehow I feel like I have been on the adventure of a lifetime these past few months.
Ryan and I have been laying pretty low these days, enjoying the simple things this life has to offer I guess, it's been nice.
I guess the biggest thing that is going on is that I turned 32 on the 2nd of March, yes I'm getting old!!! I had a pretty low key day, I worked, then I ate a scrumptious meal at El Farol with Ryan and my Mom. Later that evening Ry and I caught the late showing of "Valentines Day" We both loved it!!! It was a nice mellow day spent with those that mean the most to me.
Yesterday, Ryan, Neil and myself went up to the Huntsman Center and watched the BYU VS UTAH Basketball game, BYU rolled over the Utes, they won by like 30 Pts. We had a fun time.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a few pictures in the near future of us doing something totally fun, stay tuned!!!

P.S. Thanks to all those who sent me Birthday wishes, it means a lot that You all remember me on my big day!!!
